European Cultural and Creative Industries (ECCI) Summit 2009
Apr 23, 2009, Brussels, Belgium

European Cultural and Creative Industries (ECCI) Summit 2009

"For the future of the cultural and creative industries it will be vital to establish a digital world that is profitable and at the same time suitable for creative ideas and products. This responsibility lies not just with leading top end digital industries, but with those at the heart of the creative and cultural sector." Prof. Dieter Gorny, Artistic Director, Essen for the Ruhr 2010 - European Capital of Culture.

Hosted jointly by European Capital of Culture 2010, Essen for the Ruhr and Civic Agenda, this high profile Summit with 300 participants will address what policy and strategy the EU and National Governments need to put in place to allow the Cultural and Creative Industries sector to respond to the 'Digital Shift'. As a key stakeholder, we hope you can join us for what will be a challenging debate looking at key areas including New Business Models for Digital Markets, New Social Participation Models and at what European and National policies need to be in place to respond. The ECCI Summit was established as a yearly platform for the European Creative Industries last year.

ECCI Summit 2009 is taking place on Thursday 23rd April at the Committee of Regions Building in Brussels. After the Summit, delegates will also be invited to attend an Evening Reception at the Belgian Comic Strip Centre, also in central Brussels.
