Interfilière
Jan 18-20, 2009, Paris, France

Interfilière 2009 confirms its international dimension!

Thanks to its international dimension, Interfilière is the number one fabrics trade show for lingerie and beachwear. In 2009, the dates for Interfilière and the Salon International de la Lingerie (18/21 January 2009) have been moved forward in the fashion calendar: between Sunday 18th and Tuesday 20th January 2009, Interfilière will bring together 200 exhibitors from 20 different countries.

As was the case for the September 2008 session, Interfilière has based its communications around gourmet indulgence: a fun and celebratory theme used to express the abundance of the product range, the richness of fabrics and the pleasure of discovery which are renewed each season. For summer 2010, the blueberries have changed into beads, as if by magic, while the creativity and know-how of fabric specialists transform fibres and yarns into a treasure trove of textiles…

Richness, abundance, magic, treasure… words that guide participants on an explosive journey from emotion to emotion in “Enjoy Fabrics!”

The colour code has been selected in harmony with the palette used for the Salon International de la Lingerie, reinforcing the synergies between the upstream and downstream industry sectors and constituting the uniqueness and strength of these two linked shows.

Loyal exhibitors and new arrivals:
diversifying the offering…

Interfilière’s database of loyal exhibitors confirms the interest demonstrated by international industry players in taking part: the sector’s leading show, it offers excellent development opportunities on an international scale, with buyers flying in from some hundred countries.

To date, in addition to existing exhibitors (Bischoff Textil, Desseilles International, E.Boselli & C., Eurojersey, Forster Rohner, Iluna, Liebaert, Nylatex, Seram, etc.), six new companies that exhibited at the September 2008 session but have not yet taken part in January have confirmed their presence:

EMME – Italy – Brod’cust
A specialist in embroidery on stretch fabrics, it also produces guipure for
lingerie and corsetry.

EUROTEXTILE – France – Access Folies
A company specializing in upscale and sophisticated packaging for brands
(cloth bags, small bags, etc.).

I.R.T.E – Italy – Access Folies
Returning after a two-year absence, the company manufactures
haberdashery, accessories and elastic for lingerie, men’s underwear,
sportswear and casualwear.

FLEISCHMANN (HUNG HON) – Hong Kong/Germany – Access Folies
Created in 2005, this company is a joint venture between the German firm Karl
Fleischmann and Hung Hon Industrial, based in Hong Kong: it manufactures
accessories for lingerie and beachwear (rings, hooks-and-eyes, boning, etc.).

RITEX. – Italy – Brod’cust
Specializing in embroidery on stretch fabrics for lingerie and corsetry, Ritex
has developed a collection focusing on lightness, attention to detail and
creativity…

SOLSTISS – France – Lace it – Voted Creator of the year
A Caudry-based lacemaker, Solstiss manufactures exclusively Leavers lace
which it exports throughout the world. Having established a reputation for
creativity, the company works with designers, Haute Couture and major
lingerie brands.

New participation format: showrooms
As business requirements evolve, a number of companies are moving away
from open stands, favouring increased confidentiality for more focused
business and targeting the clientele that they wish to meet.

Showrooms provide a response to these expectations, with a flexible booking
system (between 1 and 3 days) and reception service, staffed by hostesses for
appointment-scheduling.

Additional service: business meetings
Given that Eastern European markets are highly sought-after, Interfilière is
offering exhibitors an opportunity to meet buyers from this region:

Baltic States: Latvia and Lithuania
Traditionally outsourcing countries, they have been developing their own
brands for a number of years and distributing them throughout the former
Soviet Union (Russia, Belarus, Ukraine, etc.). Members of the European Union
with nearly 600 manufacturers, the two countries are also attractive retail and
consumption markets.

Poland: a very dynamic market, with provisional growth rates of between 25
and 30% in the lingerie sector, Poland is enjoying a period of general
development and improved living standards. Lingerie manufacturers, whose
traditional export markets are Russia and the Baltic States, are now turning
towards Western European countries and France in particular.

Russia: a key export market for Western brands since the early 1990s, Russia
has also moved into manufacturing. Indeed, the textile industry has enjoyed a
veritable renaissance. Strong political support has led to the creation of new
brands as well as the purchase of factories in other Eastern European
countries; there is therefore strong potential for the products showcased at
Interfilière.

General Forum
Summer 2010 Collections

For this new season, the General Forum is playing with vibrant colours and
toying with volumes for a modern and nomadic universe: a village of hut-like
constructions, boxes within boxes...

Positioned at the heart of the show with a towering central element for
maximum visibility, it offers new structures for presenting fabrics.

A completely open space, each of the forum’s four corners will feature a
different atmosphere, created in line with the themes developed in the
“Evolution” trends book.

Themes:

1 - “Oh my darling”

The Capri spirit of the 1950s,
Haute Couture precision, a
desire for perfect elegance
and an ever sunny
disposition… patterns and
prints are rich and radiant,
lines highlight curves, never
failing to create a perfect
harmony, details and finishes
are also impeccable…

2 - “Bizarre Bazaar”
Mixing and matching in a spirit of celebration and openness, the sunniest form
of optimism is out in force …new technologies allow for a voyage of discovery
in a world where colours and motifs are without limits or borders …

3 - “Extreme equilibrium”
The most demanding designs, created using seemingly contrasting
combinations, subtle partnerships of authenticity and unexplored modernity.
Expressing a desire for sustainable luxury, fabrics rediscover the real spirit of
lingerie, while taking advantage of fibres offering revolutionary lightness. Lines
combine perfect hold with generous volumes, details create the utmost in
natural eccentricity, hand-made, aged effects, in the spirit of traditional
craftsmanship…

4 - “Colour therapy”
Inspired by the 1960s and 70s with flashes of pop art and multicoloured
stripes, but also by the vibrant 1980s Memphis trend … colours are the
watchword, an exuberant fireworks display which is ready to shake up the
“artiest” atmosphere…

Speakers’ Corner

Situated at the heart of the General Forum, this area is ever more interactive.
A series of 20-minute mini conferences discuss the latest textile news and
highlight the products on offer.

Keeping information circulating…

Taking place in parallel to the Speakers’ Corner discussions, the Salon International de la Lingerie conference programme includes a conference entitled “Brands select the season’s most remarkable fabrics”. Organized in collaboration with Interfilière, it will highlight the fabric selections of three key brands who will be asked to elect the most innovative fabrics, knits, lace, embroidery or wovens, from the point of view of style or technical features and explain why they constitute the best of Summer 2010.
An International Day on January 20th will place Poland in the spotlight. January 21st is Exhibitors Day with design agencies giving their views on the highlights of the Winter 2009/10 season and offering initial insights into Summer 2010.

“Hourly exhibitor news”: live reports compiled throughout the show will be accessible to visitors on the website www.interfiliere.com as soon as the show gets underway: innovations, new products and company developments will all be posted online.

Creator of the year

Within the framework of Paris Capitale de la Création, covering 27 leading fashion and home trade shows, Interfilière elected SOLSTISS as Creator of the year 2009.

Ultra Lingerie gets a gourmet makeover!

Ultra lingerie is a unique event organized jointly by Interfilière and the Salon
International de la Lingerie; it brings together over 800 VIPs: industry
professionals, buyers from all over the world, institutions, journalists
representing women’s magazines and the trade press, opinion leaders. In
2009, Ultra Lingerie will offer a new point of view on the Lingerie sector and
reveal the essential exchange between two complementary universes: form
and fabrics.

Enhancing its seductive appeal, lingerie fashion is being given a gourmet
makeover. This year’s Ultra Lingerie catwalk show is set to be a high point that
is good enough to eat!
Muffins, ice-cream cones, lollipops, sugar candy, chocolate in all its guises,
cupcakes, cherries, toffee apples, whipped cream, meringues, macaroons and
other tasty treats will take pride of place as sources of inspiration…
Whether whitest white or bold fruity shades… participating exhibitors at the
Salon International de la Lingerie will be encouraged to let their imaginations
run riot, in collaboration with the Interfilière exhibitors who will supply
fabrics, trims and accessories.
