Hair and Beauty 2010: Clear the stage for the Professionals@Business
• Hair and Beauty – Home of the Hairdresser
• Three target groups – Three stages
Welcome Professionals! For all salon owners and managing directors looking to exploit their company’s potential to the full, Hair and Beauty 2010 has the appropriate solutions. Experts with industry experience will be giving tips on successful salon marketing, staff management and motivation, financial and legal issues, live and exclusive in interviews and lectures. Also, the SalonStar competition will be honouring the best haircare products and tools for the first time.
The who’s who of the industry will be gathering in the Professionals@Business area in Hall 5.1: hair cosmetics, salon fitters, trade associations and guilds. "This exclusive, sophisticated atmosphere is conducive to networking", explains Eva Olbrich, Director.
Professionals@Business Corner
The highlights: knowledge is power and gives you an edge – in this context, there will be lectures from experts on numerous entrepreneurial themes.
Oliver Schmidt of OS Hairdesign, a successful international hairdressing entrepreneur from Düsseldorf with twelve salons of his own, has tailored his lecture "Bis der Laden läuft" (Until It's a Success) specifically to the professionals. Under the title "Chefsache", Hannes Friedl, management, Homini Coaching, will be investigating the do's and don'ts at management level from the essential tasks, the right attitude to perfect delegation. In his lecture "Ausbildung? Ja! Bitte! Richtig!" (Training? Yes! Please! Right!), Peter Gress from Talentboost, consultants for team and talent development, addresses salon owners and bosses who, despite time pressures, aim to make staff qualifications a management matter. Gress goes into the following questions among others: How does a new generation of bosses evolve? What to consider when choosing apprentices? He is also promoting a hairdressing training network, which he will be explaining in detail.
What must a website offer? Knuth Arndt, a trained hairdresser and founder of the successful career portal "friseurjobagent.de" and other internet platforms for hairdressers explains. Industry know-how and the special properties of the internet have taken "Friseurjobagent" (Hairdressing Job Agent) right up to the top on Google in five countries. His statement: a company with a modern web presence can acquire 30 percent of new customers via the internet. As well as concrete tips on designing an internet presence, he will be answering questions like: how do consumers search for and find an internet website? How can the market power of Google be used to your own advantage? How does the i-Phone influence individual success? What technical requirements must a website fulfil? How do you turn virtual visitors into real visitors? How does customer loyalty function in this medium?
Under the working title "Lehrerforum" a round table is planned, which takes a critical look at new regulations on the dual training system introduced in 2008. Against this background, representatives from the Central Association of the German Hairdressing Trade (Zentralverband des Deutschen Friseurhandwerks), trade school students/apprentices, successful hairdressers and industry companies will be debating.
Presentation of SalonStars 2010 – a big stage for little helpers
What is the best finishing product at the moment? Which colour won’t fade, which scissors produce the best cut? The best people to judge this are the hairdressers who use them everyday. From now on, apprentices, stylists and salon bosses are called upon to nominate their most important salon helpers in an open vote at www.MenschenimSalon.de. There are five categories to select (Shampoo and Conditioner, Styling, Finish, Color, Tools / Equipment / Accessories), spanning the entire haircare and styling spectrum. There is also a special award for the best stage performer. Shooting Star Melina Rost will be revealing the winning products at the Award Show at Hair and Beauty at 31 January 2010.
SalonStar is being awarded for the first time in Germany. Similar concepts like the Stylist Choice Award have already created a storm in the USA. The voting started in October and will run until the end of January. For further information go to www.MenschenimSalon.de.
Home of the Hairdresser – a fair for the entire hairdressing industry
The entire hairdressing sector will be partying in Frankfurt on 31 January and 1 February 2010. With a new concept, Hair and Beauty, the trade fair for the hair-cosmetics industry and hairdressing trade, is positioning itself as the "Home of the Hairdresser". Three strong sections Young Generation@Training, Talents@Work, Professionals@Business appeal to all the hairdressing trade’s target groups from beginners to professionals. For each target group there is a stage featuring specially tailored programme items ranging from lectures and workshops to competitions.
Four concurrent events
Beautyworld, International Trade Fair for the Perfumery, Drug Store and Cosmetics Trade, will be taking place from 30 January to 1 February 2010, the same dates as Hair and Beauty. Beauty_4_You, an area shared with Beautyworld, where visitors can purchase high-end cosmetic products and accessories, will be located in the Forum.
In addition, Paperworld, leading international fair for paper, office supplies and stationery, will be taking place from 30 January to 2 February 2010 and Christmasworld, the world of event decoration, from 29 January to 2 February 2010.
