Puerta de Europa
Apr 23-26, 2009, Madrid, Spain

The 7th Edition of Puerta de Europa strengthens Madrid's status as a leading point of reference for Wedding Fashion in Spain

• This edition, which will be the first staged under IFEMA's organisation, will feature the presentation of CIBELES MADRID NOVIAS, the fair's new Wedding Fashion Show.

• The fashion parades will take place on 23rd and 24th April, featuring alongside the trade exhibition in Hall 14.1 itself, the habitual venue for CIBELES MADRID FASHION WEEK.

• The catwalk will present a series of bridal fashion ideas from some of the great names of Spanish clothing design, such as Hannibal Laguna, Modesto Lomba, Elio Berhanyer, Juan Duyos, Roberto Torretta and Petro Valverde, among others, as well as ideas for bridegrooms, lingerie and accessories.

• More than 165 Spanish and foreign brands will take part at the most important wedding fashion trade fair in Spain, presenting their bridegroom and bridal outfits, party-wear, First Communion attire, accessories and trade equipment for the year 2010 season.

PUERTA DE EUROPA, the International Bridal Fashion Exhibition, will stage its seventh edition between 23rd and 26th April at Feria de Madrid. This new edition of the most important wedding fashion trade fair in Spain, the first under IFEMA's organisation, will include a large number of interesting new features, thus endowing this event of international stature with even greater appeal. Among these new features, we might highlight the presentation of a new Fashion Show based on a new and more up-to-date approach. This event will be known as CIBELES MADRID NOVIAS.

This event will encompass the wedding fashion parades that take place over the first two days of the fair, namely 23rd and 24th April. It will be accompanied by a number of other interesting ideas that have been designed to boost the fair's appeal as a whole. With these initiatives, IFEMA aims to boost the Fashion Show at a national and international level, making the most of the synergy offered by Madrid in its role as the grand centre for Spanish fashion and a key showcase for the best design made in Spain, with CIBELES playing a starring role in this respect.

The programme at this first edition of CIBELES MADRID NOVIAS will feature some 18 parades, presenting the wedding fashion ideas of various renowned fashion designers in Spain, such as Devota y Lomba, Duyos, Elio Berhanyer, Petro Valverde and Hannibal Laguna, among others. The latter designer, who is a key point of reference within the bridal couture sector in Spain and who has an established international reputation, will join this edition of PUERTA DE EUROPA, trusting in the capacity of Madrid as a grand centre for the promotion and marketing of fashion. In addition to these designers, the CIBELES MADRID NOVIAS Fashion Show will present the ideas of an interesting group of outstanding party-wear and wedding fashion brands, all habitual participants at the fair. In total, throughout the Fashion Show's two-day duration, some 22 collections will be presented on the catwalk. Another of the new features at this edition will be the staging of a series of Bridegroom fashion parades, in addition to other parades devoted to Accessories and Lingerie.

More Than 165 Spanish Brands

The seventh edition of Puerta de Europa takes place in the month of April instead of in its habitual month of May, upon the request of the sector itself. It will be the first edition organised by IFEMA since it purchased the event last October. However, the marketing campaign for the fair will still be carried out by the company, EXPOTECNIC. More than 165 Spanish and foreign brands will take part at this event with their collections of wedding dresses and bridegroom attire, party-wear, First Communion attire, accessories and trade equipment for the Year 2010 Season. Through the participation of these brands, visitors will be able to discover at first hand the latest wedding fashion and party-wear trends in terms of design, colours, materials and accessories. These collections, which have been designed for the new season, will be on show at the different stands throughout the exhibition, thus completing the overall vision that visitors are offered at the CIBELES MADRID NOVIAS Fashion Parades.
