Margin London 2009 moves to Mayfair
Margin is still the place to go to find new talent in streetwear
With major construction and restoration work taking place at the previous venue for the foreseeable future, Margin is pleased to announce that the upscale streetwear and directional tailoring trade show will be returning to Mayfair and the clean white minimalist gallery space of The Music Rooms. |
 |
Regular visitors will know that The Music Rooms was the home of Margin for
eight successful editions from 2003 to 2005, and is based in the heart of the
West End. Just behind the famous shopping area of South Molton Street and in
between Bond Street & Oxford Street, Margin will be central to all other Mens &
Womens trade events taking place on the same dateline in west & east London
during London Market Week.
Margin has always been a curated event and the organisers are embracing the
white showroom space at The Music Rooms to hone the edited brands on offer
even further. Margin organiser Odysseas Constantine explained that "As much as
we enjoyed the previous venue, the building work taking place means we feel
we have to move the show but we realise that international and out-of-town buyers
that visit Margin like to keep up-to-date on retail developments by checking out
central London stores so we're keeping the show in W1. We know what the
successful visiting buyers and press want and they tell us that they love Margin
for its central location and the edited offering of fresh brands."
Firmly established amongst credible retailers as a key show to discover new and
young brands, Constantine believes the move will help Margin sharpen the focus of
the show and keep the selection tight unlike larger events that have to fill halls
with all-comers. "With the size of the gallery space of The Music Rooms dictating
the maximum number of labels that can take part, we can filter applications to
ensure we're offering an exciting, directional and, most importantly, profitable brand
line-up. This means buyers can spend more time ordering and less time hunting
out new and interesting labels which can be a real downside of larger events. As
always, labels that take part at Margin have to merit their place in the show."
The 16th edition of Margin London is on the 8th & 9th February 2009
and will be open from 10am until 6pm on both days.
