Six months before it opens all the indications once again point to a successful Kind + Jugend. The Who is Who of the sector along with numerous first-time exhibitors have now already registered for the event, which will be held from 17th to 20th September in Cologne. As a result, compared to the same period last year, more registrations have been received and more exhibition space also booked. Kind + Jugend is registering increased demand especially from the furniture and textile outfitting segments and the baby and toddler toys sector. We expect a total of around 800 exhibitors from approx. 40 countries at the sector's most important event of the year. "As the world's leading event for baby and toddler outfitting, Kind + Jugend is a fixed date in the exhibitors' and visitors' calendar", said Oliver P. Kuhrt, Executive Vice-President Koelnmesse GmbH. "That is confirmed not only by the above-average growth of recent years both in terms of exhibitors and visitors. It is also supported by the very good registration level at the current time. Due to the continuing high level of demand, we are also enlarging the exhibition space once again, which will enable an even more effective segmentation of the event. "In September, in gross exhibition space of around 100,000 m² in Halls 10.1, 10.2, 11.1 and 11.2 and also for the first time in Hall 11.3, children's furniture, car seats, textile outfitting, prams and hygiene articles will be presented along with toys and fashion for babies and toddlers.
The leading companies in their sectors will be flying the flag in all product segments. These include among others: Dorel, Britax Römer, Hauck, Recaro-Storchenmühle, Concord, Janè, Chicco, Graco-teutonia, Hartan, Odenwälder, Geuther, roba, Alvi, Stokke, Pinolino, Paidi, Zöllner, Mattel, Peg Perego, HTS, sigikid, Sterntaler, Selecta, Steiff Noukies, Haba, Tomy, Tiny Love, Mapa, Baby Björn, Philips-Avent Mam and also rotho.
For years the toys sector for the 0-3 age group has been registering especially strong levels of participation. For this year's event many toy manufacturers from Europe and overseas have already announced their first-time participation. In the wake of this development, a spacious area is being created especially for this growth sector in Hall 11.3. Interested specialist dealers - at the last Kind + Jugend these people alone accounted for 47 percent of the total of around 16,000 trade visitors - can thus specifically head for the baby and toddler toys segment in the immediate vicinity of the East Entrance. Hall 11.3 will also be the location for baby, toddler and maternity wear along with the presentation area for the Kind + Jugend Innovation Award.
Kind + Jugend Innovation Award with enhanced profile
By popular request this year will see slight changes in the selection process for the most important award in the children's outfitting sector, the Kind + Jugend Innovation Award. In order to guarantee a more effective comparability of products in the individual categories the product groups have been restructured. As a result, this year, for the first time, prizes will be awarded in the following eight categories:

Shortly before the fair starts the specialist jury will nominate a maximum of five products in each category for this year's Kind + Jugend Innovation Award. In each category one product will ultimately be selected for the award. The festive prize presentation will be held as usual during the fair's official opening ceremony on the first day of the event.
