Special Background
Affected seriously by the global financial crisis, automobile industry was suffering and slumping in 2009. In order to spur the development of Chinese automobile industry under the global financial crisis, to keep China’s economic growth, and to adjust industry structure, Chinese government approved the “Adjustment and Vitalization Plan for Auto Industry” in 2009. It aimed at expanding domestic demand, speeding up adjustment of structure, stabilizing vehicle consumption, enhancing the independent innovation capability, propelling industry upgrading, and assisting auto industry with healthy and sustainable development. Thanks to the adjustment and stimulus plan for the automotive industry and a series of policies boosting economic growth, China’s automotive markets buck the trend, showing the positive trend of development in the financial crisis. The annual vehicle sales volume in China was over 13.6 million in 2009, becoming the fastest and the most important emerging auto market worldwide, as well as the main growth points of multinational auto companies. In the first quarter of this year, China’s auto market still remained quick growth. Vehicle sales volume exceeded 4 million, increased 50% over the same period last year. China’s auto market has become the crucial force to save sluggish global auto market, and regained confidence in global auto industry. Nowadays, China is moving steadily forward from a major auto consumption and manufacturing country to a power nation of auto industry.
