A multilingual internet site for 2010
Several days ago, the www.festival-cannes.fr website was made available in eight languages. In addition to French and English, Internet users can now follow all the Festival news in Spanish, Portuguese, Chinese, Japanese, Arabic and Russian. The website is now accessible to 4.142 billion people, or over half of the world’s population, in their native languages.
The 2010 launch of an official multilingual website is the result of a long period of reflection on how the international scope of the event can best be enhanced.
By localising its official website, the Festival de Cannes aims to further the following three ambitions: using technological innovation to support cinema, ensuring that film culture is accessible to as many people as possible and fostering the appreciation of the cinematographic arts on an international scale. |

The Cannes Film Festival opening party held at the Majestic Beach, was sponsored by Lancia. Around a thousand guests attended the event yesterday evening, among them Eva Longoria, Russell Crowe, Danielle Spencer, Frederique Bel, Rebecca Wang.
Lancia at the Cannes Festival aboard the"Signora del Vento"
 The new star in the harbour at Cannes is the "Signora del Vento", a magnificent 85 meters sailing vessel which has been plying the oceans since 1962 and which is now hosting an exclusive "Lancia Caffè" in the shade of its imposing black sails, over 3,000 m2, bearing the distinctive Lancia logo. This historic vessel will be the venue for international cinema events during the 63rd Cannes Cinema Festival, from 12th to 23rd May. The decks of the "Signora del Vento" will host parties, meetings, press conferences and interviews with the stars of world cinema. The first event on board the sailing vessel is set for tomorrow, 12th May, from 5 pm to 7 pm, when there will be a special meeting with the international press before the keenly awaited showing of Ridley Scott's "Robin Hood", starring Russell Crowe and Cate Blanchett. The evening then continues with the Festival's opening party - an extraordinary event sponsored by Lancia - at the Majestic Beach, with around a thousand guests attending. |
