Tashkent Fashion Week 2009
Inspired with national motives
Style.uz 2009 Art Week is taking place in Tashkent.
The day of October 12 has become the start of the Art Week Style.uz 2009 in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, that was marked by opening of the Exhibition of Applied Art, Design, Fashion and Antiques that from the first hours of its functioning managed to bring high accolades and references.
The program of the second day of the week, October 13, included a presentation of the fundamental catalog by Akmal Nur, People’s Artists of Uzbekistan, published with the assistance of Fund Forum. The new publication revealing creative activity of the artist and conditions of the contemporary art of Uzbekistan includes Akmal Nur’s 246 works that glorify national and universal values.
Another grandiose event of the day 2 is the project Underground that is to become a genuine event for youth where collections by young and promising designers will be showcased. Participation in this project gives huge opportunities to talented youth, ten of whom fortuned to take part in it this year. While preparing to the contest participants have demonstrated boundless fantasy, aspiration for extraordinary approaches and creativity. Inspiring with national historical costumes, they virtuously combined textile and colors using traditional accessories, ornaments and other elements in their author interpretations.
Defile by foreign designers, representatives of London College of Fashion as well as Russian designer Vardui Nazaryan will finish the second day of the week.
It should noted that along with projects in sphere of culture and art the Fund Forum (Style.uz 2009 Art Week principal organizer) pays much attention to the support of prominent culture and art figures and academics of Uzbekistan through publishing their catalogs and albums, treatises and memoires, research works and pornographies. The publication of the catalog by Akmal Nur is another project in the field.
Akmal Nur is one of the distinctive artists of Uzbekistan in the present-day fine art. His creations determine synthesis of traditions of the East and West as well as national uniqueness. The artist’s canvases are of lyrical charm and eastern mystery.
