In cooperation with the fashion magazine ELLE, Mercedes-Benz is unveiling the Dutch designer Iris van Herpen. In Holland, the winner of the Mercedes-Benz Dutch Fashion Award 2010 is already celebrated as a rising star, and in July she will be premiering her avant-garde creations at the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in Berlin. The show will be held on 8th July 2011 at 6 p.m. in the venue on the Strasse des 17 Juni.

Iris van Herpen studied at the renowned ARTEZ Institute of the Arts in Arnhem and learned from great masters such as Alexander McQueen or Viktor & Rolf. She presented her first independent collection, entitled “Fragile Futurity”, in 2007. Since then, her collections and her presentations have been an explosion of creativity and captivating beauty.
In Iris van Herpen, Mercedes-Benz and ELLE are supporting an up-and-coming new face on the fashion scene whose hallmarks are individualism, unusual designs and an artistic interpretation of fashion. Mercedes-Benz is involved with fashion events in over 30 countries worldwide. One particular project is the encouragement of young, particularly innovative designers for whom the company's commitment to fashion can offer an international platform to showcase their designs. As a new cooperation partner and as the world’s leading fashion magazine, ELLE – with its particular talent for spotting outstanding newcomers – will be contributing its many years of fashion expertise. |
