More New, More Green and More International Designers
at the Exhibition @ London Fashion Week

January 24, 2007 - The British Fashion Council today announced that the Exhibition @ London Fashion Week has attracted more first time exhibitors, more ‘green’ labels, and more designers from New York and LA eager to show their Autumn/Winter Collections this February 12th – 15th February 2007 at the Natural History Museum, SW7.

Estethica, an area dedicated to designers who are eco-sustainable, is in its second season retaining key names such as Katharine E Hamnett and Project Alabama, as well as attracting new, including: Wildlife Works; Mumo; Maria; aGaiN NYC; Entermodal; Unicorn Design; Charmone; Gary Harvey Creative; The Hemp Trading Company – THTC; and we believe London Fashion Week’s first farmer designers Makepiece whose fashionable silhouettes made from sustainable yarns prove that you can go from sheep to chic in one location. Estethica is located on the ground floor of the exhibition.

‘New Gen’ in the exhibition sponsored by Top Shop, the starting point for some of the UK’s most established designers continues to support the most hotly tipped new talent to emerge from the UK, not least this season’s Richard Nicoll, Roksanda Ilincic, Swash, Meadham Kirchhoff and Ginta. ‘New Gen’ can be found on the first floor of the exhibition as can the ‘New Gen’ Café.

Fashion East* once again comes west with designers Danielle Scutt, Louise Goldin and for the first time House of Holland.

Designers and Agents has increased its number of designers showing to complete their showcase of America’s most talked about ready-to-wear and accessory designers. New this season are: Enshallah ; Julie Brown; Julieri; June; Marika Charles; Melissa Joy Manning; Tai Rittichai; Her Look Enterprises; Soixante Neuf; S-Sung; Robin's Jeans; Raven Denim; Podoll and French Sole. Designers and Agents is on the first floor of the exhibition.

The exhibition hosts many established designers who have grown their business with the assistance of ‘New Gen’ sponsorship, such as Brit stars Sara Berman, Camilla Staerk and Jens Laugesen, who now sit alongside some of the UK’s most recognised names such as Stephen Jones, Lulu Guinness, Allegra Hicks, Karl Donoghue, Madeleine Press, Lara Bohinc, Bracher Emden, Ally Capellino and Osprey.

As last season the ground floor will consist of Estethica, and accessories alongside sponsor stands, ‘The Café’ and the Lavazza Café. On the first floor you will find ‘New Gen’, Ready to Wear, Designers and Agents, the ‘New Gen’ Café and for the first season ‘The Bar’ with Red Bull decks and London DJs acknowledging the close relationship between fashion and music in popular culture. This season the Moët Bar will be located in the BFC Show Tent styled by Westfield at the Natural History Museum.

Hilary Riva, Chief Executive of the BFC, commented “The influx of new names and talent, ensures a variety within the exhibition that will excite the worldwide community of fashion stores and boutiques who visit the exhibition every season”.
