Glamour and glitz mark the first day of Lakme Fashion Week
Day one at Lakme Fashion Week began with Bollywood glitterati sashaying down the runway. The day opened with Vikram Phadnis showcasing for the Gitanjali Jewellery extravaganza, while the curtains drew with Nandita Mahtani's houseful Bollywood presence!
 Beauties like Perizaad Zorabian, Minnisha Lamba and Geeta Basra walked the catwalk for Vikram Phadnis, displaying the touches of grey and silver embroidery that dazzled with bead work, zari, sequins and thread work.
Vibrant colours rocked the runway for Nandita Mahtani, who with a 60s twist created tantalising regal dresses, brocade coats, velvet minis/jumpsuits, chiffon embroidered skirts and double-breasted coat dresses.
The evening wrapped up as Karan Johar enthralled the audience with his charm and simplicity on the runway. This unconventional showstopper for Nandita lifted the audience's spirits, to kick-start Lakme Fashion Week.
All in all, Lakme Fashion Week opened with the fashionistas making a beeline for the front row. |
