Glasgow Fashion Week 2009 dates and venue announced
 Now in its third consecutive year Glasgow Fashion Week is proud and very thrilled to announce that The LighthouseScotland's Centre for Architecture and Design will serve as its base for thenext three years. This year the event will takeplace in November from 11th-14th.
Glasgow has steadilybuilt up its character as the most exciting, fashion-forward city in Scotlandover recent years, with famous designers such as Vivienne Westwood and RalphLauren setting up stores, as well as housing chic boutiques including Ma Modeand vintage hideaways such as Mr. Bens.
 Set up to support this interest within theScottish fashion industry, the annual Glasgow Fashion Week manages to provide afresh alternative to the worlds more traditional fashion weeks, showing acombination of Scottish and International talent from all over Europe, Asia,Africa and Oceania, including established labels as well as future stars tippedfor the top. With an aim tosupport and drive exposure for designers, there are a mixture of catwalk showsand exhibitions presenting a variety of striking ready to wear, intricatemillinery, alluring lingerie and a stage for 'New Luxury' which showseverything in between, there is something to appeal to all tastes.
Thrilling news for this year and thefuture of Glasgow Fashion Week is that The Lighthouse will now be serving asthe event's basis for the next three years. Named the Center for Architecture,Design and the City, the building dates back to 1895, where it was designed bythe firm Honeyman and Keppie, where the renowned Charles Rennie MacIntoshapprenticed. Being launched in 1999, it is one of the only centers in the worldthat is equally dedicated to architecture, design and the creative industries,featuring exhibitions, lectures, conferences and festivals year round, intendedto inspire.
Based on the success of previous years,with critical acclaim from both industry experts and national and internationalpublications, the partnership between The Lighthouse and Glasgow Fashion Weeklooks set to cement Glasgow's growing reputation as the most fashionable,creative and directional city in Scotland, with this years event expected to bea must-attend event by Glasgow's fashionistas.
